“It was like going home for Sunday lunch.”
Reviewed 24 September 2012 NEW
From the moment we arrived, we felt like we had been welcomed by a relative we hadn’t seen in a while who was so happy to have us over for Sunday lunch. Meanwhile, it was just Marg meeting us for the first time.
Although the menu wasn’t as extensive as you would get at some fancy restaurant, everything was SO delicious. There must’ve been a few locals dining with us on this particular occasion which is always a great sign, and the atmosphere was quite pleasant with conversations starting up all across the wooden deck overlooking the winery, which is also the dining area.
If you’re heading up to Noosa this summer and happen to be passing through around lunch time, it is well worth the short detour off theBruce Hwy for a home cooked meal, prepared with so much love.

Sunshine Coast winemakers David and Marg Gillespie suffered the devastating loss of their first-born daughter Rachael, who died from SIDS-related causes as a baby. On the day Rachael would have turned 21, the Gillespies established the Dingo Creek Jazz & Blues Festival to recognise the ‘milestone’ in their family’s life. Since then, the Gillespies have organised this amazing festival annually to raise funds for SIDS. To date, they have donated more than $90,000 for SIDS.
Recently, Dave and Marg have felt the need to pull back on the work load. The Rotary Club of Gympie has taken on the challenge and, with the help of the Gillespies, are working to continue and expand on the great work that has been already established. Funds raised from the event this year will again be allocated to the main beneficiary, SIDS and Kids QLD.
